The Opportunity: Reporting to the Program Manager / President, our client is seeking a dynamic COO / Deputy for a major environmental management contract. The COO will manage all operational activities and facilities; oversee and ensure the safe and efficient transition of activities, cleanup operations and waste disposal, and construction and/or startup of facilities.
Include but not limited to: Leader of nuclear and high-hazard operations at multiple nuclear facilities performing waste processing, treatment and disposal operations. Direct safe and optimized operations. Develop and maintain a strong nuclear safety and conduct of operations culture. Develop and implement strategic initiatives, operations integration activities, continuous process improvements and performance assurance measure. Ensure compliance with site-wide manuals governing operations and maintenance requirements.
20+ years managing hazardous chemical processing in nuclear facilities or nuclear operations, 5 years in DOE facilities
Plant management experience, chemical nuclear preferred
Management of >$250 million / year budget
Radioactive waste management experience
Management of nuclear waste disposal or storage facilties at an environmental restoration site
Strong leader with the ability to foster cultural changes, mentoring and leadership development, ability to establish a clear vision for common goals and effectively communicate and execute goals with their leadership team
